PESHAWAR: A service to humanity conference organised by the Chitral Information and Helping Forum was held at the Peshawar Press Club, with speakers calling for stronger welfare initiatives to address socio-economic challenges faced by Chitral.
Major General (retd) Sajjad Ali Khan attended the event as chief guest, while Federal Health Minister Dr Mustafa Kamal addressed the gathering via video link.
Participants highlighted unemployment, underdevelopment and poverty as key issues confronting the region and emphasised the role of welfare organisations in providing relief and long-term support.
Several political leaders, social activists, bureaucrats and journalists from Chitral attended the event. The organisers said the forum has remained active in providing assistance during emergencies, including the Covid-19 pandemic, and continues to support education and health-related initiatives.
The conference concluded with the issuance of a declaration reaffirming the resolve to continue welfare activities.
