Bajaur : The district administration has intensified its crackdown against narcotics, launching a large-scale poppy eradication campaign in Tehsil Salarzai, during which illegally cultivated poppy spread over approximately 10 kanal was destroyed.
The operation was carried out on the directives of the Deputy Commissioner Bajaur, with Tehsildar Nawagai Alam Zaib and Tehsildar Utmankhel Muhammad Fayaz jointly leading the campaign. During the operation, officials, along with police and other concerned personnel, conducted actions in different areas and uprooted the standing crop from the fields.
Officials stated that the cultivation of opium is not only illegal but also a major contributor to the spread of drugs in society. They emphasized that strict action will continue against such elements without discrimination and that violations of the law will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
The administration also launched a public awareness campaign, informing local communities about the harmful effects of narcotics and seeking their cooperation in eliminating this menace. Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to protecting the younger generation from drugs and stated that such steps will continue consistently in the future.
