Dera Ismail Khan: A meeting was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner Adnan Jamil regarding the arrangements for the bicycle race to be held in connection with the Battle for Right to Independence Day. The meeting was attended by Regional Sports Officer Raziullah Bettani, Regional Information Officer Sanaullah Bettani, Assistant Commissioner Dera Ismail Khan Syed Muhammad Arsalan, District Health Officer, District Emergency Officer Rescue 1122, officers of the Police Department, Motorway, TMA and Pakistan Army. During the meeting, it was informed that a bicycle race has been organized on August 9 in connection with the Battle for Right to Independence Day, in which one hundred inter-district and inter-provincial cyclists are participating. The said bicycle race will start from York and end at Chahkan Fort. Addressing the meeting, the Additional Deputy Commissioner said that all the relevant departments should fulfill their responsibilities in a proper manner for the successful organization of the bicycle race. Rescue 1122 teams, ambulances and bikers will be present to provide immediate medical assistance to the cyclist, while the support of the Health Office will also be available. Similarly, security arrangements have been made by the Police Department, while administrative officers and the Sports Department will monitor the entire event. The Additional Deputy Commissioner further said that various steps are being taken to celebrate Independence Day with full enthusiasm. Citizens should also celebrate this event in a full manner and also participate fully in the ongoing tree plantation campaign so that while on the one hand we have to celebrate the joy of independence, on the other hand we have to make our country, which has been achieved through endless sacrifices, green and lush.
