PESHAWAR: The five-day “Da Zwanano Awaz – Voice of Youth” Podcasting and Digital Storytelling Training Boot Camp for youth from the newly merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa concluded successfully at the Business Incubation Center, University of Peshawar. The training program was organized in collaboration with the Directorate of Youth Affairs, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and was held from August 17 to 21, 2026.
The training boot camp aimed to equip young people from the newly merged districts with practical and modern skills in podcasting, digital storytelling, digital content creation, and contemporary digital media. Throughout the five-day program, participants received hands-on training in various stages of podcast production, including topic selection, planning, scriptwriting, recording, editing, and publishing content on digital platforms.
The digital storytelling sessions focused on developing meaningful and engaging stories, presenting them effectively through digital platforms, and providing young people with the skills to amplify their voices and highlight issues and stories from their communities. Participants also gained practical experience in developing and presenting digital content through hands-on activities.
The initiative was designed to provide youth from the newly merged districts with creative, practical, and market-oriented digital skills, introduce them to emerging opportunities in the digital economy, and enable them to effectively use digital platforms for positive storytelling, public awareness, and social impact.
The training program was led by Assistant Professor Dr. Baht Zaman Yousafzai, while Sidra Adrees served as the co-trainer. During the training, participants also utilized the state-of-the-art podcast studio at the Business Incubation Center, gaining practical experience in podcast production and recording in a professional environment.
Speaking on the occasion, Assistant Professor Dr. Baht Zaman Yousafzai and Shakil Khan, Focal Person at the Business Incubation Center, said that podcasting and digital storytelling are rapidly growing fields in the digital media landscape. They emphasized that equipping young people with practical digital media skills is essential to enabling them to effectively communicate their ideas, perspectives, and stories.
They further said that “Da Zwanano Awaz” was not intended to remain limited to a five-day training program, but would help pave the way for further initiatives and opportunities for young people in the fields of digital media, podcasting, and digital storytelling.
At the conclusion of the training program, podcasts produced by the participants were presented, providing them with an opportunity to demonstrate the skills and knowledge they had acquired during the training. Certificates were also distributed among the participants who successfully completed the training program.
