PESHAWAR : Prizes were distributed among the winners of the poetry competition held as part of the Darshal Digital Awards ceremony, while prominent personalities who have rendered services in various fields were also presented special shields.
In the poetry competition, Amrullah Zindoon secured first position and won a cash prize of Rs100,000. Zahid Hamas stood second with Rs75,000, while Salman Salam secured third position and received Rs50,000. Zahid Malang, Haroon Hiwad and Shafaq Afridi were presented honorary prizes of Rs25,000 each.
According to the organizers, five expert judges were appointed for different categories of the competition. Each judge evaluated the poets’ performances in their respective category and awarded marks, which were combined to determine the final results.
The ceremony was presided over by renowned poet and writer Aseer Mangal. Abasin Arts Council President Ijaz Hassan Khattak was the chief guest, while Hanif Khalil and Sports Director Riaz Khan were the guests of honor. Noor-ul-Basar Basar performed the duties of stage secretary.
Murad Ali Murad, Haji Aslam, renowned actor Khalid Khattak, Naveed Afridi, Siraj Arif, renowned singer Faisal Khayal, Amjad Hadi Yousafzai, Toofan, Saud, Khan Bahai and Ijaz Khattak, along with other personalities, attended the event. Special shields were also presented to various personalities, journalists and other participants in recognition of their services.
Several poets presented their poetry during the ceremony. In the final segment, renowned singer Faisal Khayal, accompanied by his team, performed live music, which was greatly appreciated by the audience and received enthusiastic applause.
The speakers said that such literary and cultural events provide young poets with opportunities to showcase their talent and play an important role in promoting literature and the arts.
