PESHAWAR: Deputy Commissioner Peshawar Captain (Retd.) Sanaullah Khan reviewed the rain-related situation across the city on Monday and directed all concerned departments to remain on high alert to ensure public safety.
During visits to Charsadda Road, Warsak Road and other areas, the Deputy Commissioner inspected water flow in streams and drains, drainage arrangements and the overall situation. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Relief) Muhammad Asghar Surani, officials from the district administration, Irrigation Department, Rescue 1122, Water and Sanitation Services Peshawar (WSSP), and other departments accompanied him.
After receiving a briefing on water flow and drainage conditions, the Deputy Commissioner instructed departments to maintain continuous monitoring of streams, bridges and low-lying areas while keeping machinery, manpower and relief resources fully prepared for any emergency.
He said protecting the lives and property of citizens remained the district administration’s top priority and urged people to avoid streams, flood channels and areas with strong water currents, especially keeping children away from such locations.
Captain (Retd.) Sanaullah Khan also directed all departments to strengthen coordination, ensure the drainage system remains fully operational and respond promptly to any emergency during the ongoing rainy spell.
