CHAKDARA: Regional Director Health Malakand Division Dr. Jamshed Sherani has said that recommendations will be sent to the provincial government to improve healthcare facilities across Malakand Division, address doctors’ issues and ensure the provision of medicines and medical staff in hospitals.

He was addressing a meeting of District Health Officers (DHOs) and Medical Superintendents (MSs) of Category A, B and C hospitals held at Chakdara under his chairmanship.

The meeting reviewed key challenges facing healthcare institutions, including shortages of medicines, doctors, ambulances and emergency facilities. Participants also discussed issues related to accommodation for doctors and medical staff and measures to improve healthcare services at district and tehsil levels.

DHOs and MSs from all districts highlighted problems faced by their respective hospitals and stressed the need for enhanced resources to improve patient care and emergency response services.

The meeting also reviewed progress on the anti-polio campaign, with participants reaffirming their commitment to strengthening EPI and polio eradication efforts across the division.

Doctors attending the meeting welcomed the initiative and expressed hope that the recommendations would help improve healthcare delivery and address longstanding challenges in the region.
