PESHAWAR: Dr. Kazim Niaz, Patron of Niaz Adabi Sangar Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has said that presenting the true image of Pashtun literature and culture to the world is the core mission of the organization. He made these remarks while addressing a meeting of Niaz Adabi Sangar held at DHA Peshawar.

Dr. Kazim Niaz stated that Pashtun poets and writers have produced literature of the highest standards in every era, while contemporary Pashto literature also carries its own distinct identity and significance. He reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to the promotion of the Pashto language, literature, and culture.

The meeting was chaired by Muhammad Zubair Khan and convened to review the literary event organized on May 23, 2026, in honor of Professor Dr. Salma Shaheen. The proceedings were conducted by General Secretary Faridoon Khan. Senior members including Professor Aseer Mangal, Fayaz Khan Kheshgi, Noor-ul-Bashar Naveed, Dr. Alam Yousafzai, Dr. Gulzar Jalal Yousafzai, Sattar Khan, Amjad Ali Khadim, Hameed-ur-Rehman Nadan, and Sadiq Amanzai also attended the session.

After detailed deliberations, participants declared the event held in honor of Dr. Salma Shaheen a great success and appreciated the collective efforts of the organizing team. They also acknowledged the support of Director General Archaeology Dr. Abdul Samad Khan for his cooperation, particularly in designing event materials.

Dr. Kazim Niaz paid rich tribute to Dr. Salma Shaheen, describing her as a true custodian of Pashto literature and culture. He added that similar events honoring literary figures would continue in the future to highlight their services.

The meeting also decided to commemorate the anniversary of Professor Jahanzeb Niaz in September and to hold a special event in December in honor of Professor Aseer Mangal.

Later, a literary Mushaira was organized under the chairmanship of Sattar Khan, with Dr. Alam Yousafzai serving as moderator. A large number of poets including Dr. Kazim Niaz, Professor Aseer Mangal, Noor-ul-Bashar Naveed, Faridoon Khan, Amjad Ali Khadim, Hameed-ur-Rehman Nadan, and Sadiq Amanzai presented their poetry.

Literary enthusiasts, including Engineer Javed Khattak, attended the session and appreciated the literary gathering.
