ABBOTTABAD: The first-ever Qaiser Khan Memorial Squash Championship, organized by the District Squash Association Abbottabad, is set to commence on July 22 at the Jan Sher Khan Squash Complex. The tournament will feature 32 top-seeded players from across Abbottabad district, competing under a knockout format.
Tournament Director and former DG Sports, Tariq Mahmood, along with Secretary District Squash Association, Syed Abrar Shah, addressed the media and expressed confidence that the event would mark a significant step forward in the promotion of squash in the region.
They emphasized that this championship will not only boost local interest in the sport but also help in identifying and nurturing new talent. “The future of squash in Pakistan is bright,” they stated, “as young players are showing dedication and hard work. We believe the Hazara region will gain national recognition through these rising stars.”
The organizers are hopeful that the tournament will become an annual feature and a platform for emerging squash players to shine on both provincial and national levels.
