MARDAN: Women University Mardan has mobilised its faculty, staff and students to collect donations for flood victims in Buner, Swat and Swabi. The initiative, launched under the guidance of Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Razia Sultana, aims to provide urgent assistance to families displaced and affected by the recent floods.

Dr Sultana said the university community stands with those facing hardships, stressing that academic institutions must not remain silent in times of crisis. “It is our moral duty to support our brothers and sisters in Buner, Swat and Swabi who have lost homes, livelihoods and peace due to the devastating floods,” she noted.

Donations gathered from the university’s faculty, staff and students are being directed towards food, shelter and basic necessities for the affected population. The Vice Chancellor praised the active participation of students in the campaign, describing it as a sign of social responsibility and empathy.

The relief drive reflects growing concerns over the human and economic cost of this year’s flooding in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where hundreds of families remain displaced and reconstruction efforts are likely to take months.
