Dera Ismail Khan: District Police Officer (DPO) Sajjad Ahmad Sahibzada has announced that comprehensive and foolproof security arrangements have been finalized in Dera Ismail Khan for the holy month of Muharram.
Speaking to media representatives at the Command and Control Room established at Ijaz Shaheed Police Lines, the DPO said that all activities related to Muharram across the district are being closely monitored. A total of 193 CCTV cameras have been installed to monitor religious processions and gatherings, while an additional 80 cameras have been placed at key entry and exit points of the city. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Imran Kundi was also present on the occasion. DPO Sajjad Ahmad was briefing the media inside the Command and Control Room.
He stated that the police force is on high alert, with more than 9,000 personnel deployed throughout the district. To ensure effective coordination between departments, a special liaison camp has also been established within the Police Lines, where officers from all relevant departments are present and addressing any complaints or issues immediately.
Furthermore, the DPO revealed that a dedicated task force has been formed to provide essential facilities to the police officers on duty, including two meals a day and breakfast.
