PESHAWAR : Senior Pakistan Peoples Party leader and prominent political and social figure Haji Naib Khan Bangash has expressed deep concern over the continued increase in petroleum product prices, saying that the day-to-day rise in petrol prices is continuously adding to the hardships of the people, particularly workers, the middle class and low-income groups.
Haji Naib Khan Bangash said that the rising prices of petroleum products have a direct impact on transportation, food items, electricity, businesses and every basic necessity of daily life, while inflation has already broken the back of the common man. He said that providing food for the family and meeting the basic needs of children is becoming increasingly difficult for ordinary citizens.
He said that placing the burden of economic recovery on the poor and middle class every time is completely unacceptable. The government must understand the difficulties faced by the people and, instead of increasing petroleum prices, provide them with genuine, immediate and effective relief.
Haji Naib Khan Bangash said that under the prevailing circumstances, political parties and governments should rise above their differences and focus on resolving the problems faced by the people. Inflation, unemployment and economic pressure have subjected ordinary citizens to severe mental and financial difficulties.
He further said that the continued increase in petroleum prices is not only affecting household budgets but is also having negative effects on business activities and the national economy. The government should take measures to reduce inflation and ease the difficulties of the common people instead of imposing further financial burdens on them.
Haji Naib Khan Bangash demanded that the government immediately review the increase in petroleum product prices, take effective measures to control inflation and provide immediate relief to the common people so that the growing economic pressure can be reduced and public confidence restored.
