PESHAWAR: Members of the Chitral A team, the champions of the Shandur Polo Festival, met with Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi at the Governor House Peshawar on Wednesday. The Governor congratulated the winning team on their hard-earned victory, praising their dedication and talent. Discussions focused on upgrading facilities at the Shandur and Chitral Polo Grounds, and enhancing veterinary care for horses.
Team manager Major Waleed and captain Subedar Israr Wali briefed the Governor on the team’s performance and requested improved equipment and medical facilities. Highlighting the global appeal of the Shandur Polo Festival, the Governor emphasized the importance of nurturing local sports talent and providing youth with opportunities for growth. PPP Upper Chitral District President Syed Sher Hussain was also present.
The Governor distributed commemorative shields among the players and reaffirmed his commitment to promoting polo across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and beyond.
