KARACHI: Hashmi Pakistan, a trusted leader in health and beauty industry, in collaboration with the Economic Diplomacy Forum (EDF), hosted a prestigious farewell reception at the Karachi Gymkhana in honor of the Consul General of Federal Republic of Germany, His Excellency Dr. Rüdiger Lotz, marking the conclusion of his diplomatic mission in Pakistan.
The distinguished event led by Dr. Muhammad Rashid Hashmi, CEO of Hashmi Surma Group of Industries and Dr. Muhammad Farooq Afzal, Founder President Economic Diplomacy Forum was not only a testament to the Pakistani hospitality but it also successfully brought together leading figures from the diplomatic corps, business community, senior government officials, academia, and civil society to recognize and celebrate Consul General of Germany, Dr. Lotz’s valuable contributions to strengthening German-Pakistani economic ties during his tenure and Germany’s pivotal role in supporting Pakistan’s GSP status, trade facilitation, and broader development.
The grand farewell to the German Consul General also had Mr. Yang Yundong, Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China and Mr. Fazal Karim Dadabhoy, Honorary Consul of Republic of Côte d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast) along with Iftikhar Ahmed, former Director General of Pakistan Customs, as well as dignitaries and representatives from several countries from across the globe including United States of America, Türkiye, Japan, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia, Oman, and Vietnam in attendance.
The event highlighted the growing importance of economic diplomacy and international cooperation in Pakistan. On the occasion, Hashmi Pakistan, expressed gratitude for the Consul General’s efforts in deepening economic, cultural, and diplomatic bilateral relations between Germany and Pakistan.

The farewell reception concluded with a commemorative presentation and an interactive networking session among attendees, reinforcing the role of platforms like the Economic Diplomacy Forum for strengthening Pakistan’s global economic and diplomatic relations through public-private engagement, thought leadership, and strategic partnerships, with Hashmi Pakistan proudly serving as a bridge for global goodwill and dialogue.
