PESHAWAR: The Independence Day Pakistan Cycle Race, organized by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Cycling Association under the supervision of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Directorate, will be held in Peshawar on August 13, said Nisar Ahmed, head of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Cycling Association, while talking to the media. He was accompanied by Provincial President Shayan Ali Shah and Secretary Muhammad Ali. Along with all divisions and cycling clubs of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Pakistan Ordnance Factory and Islamabad cycling teams will also participate in the race. The cycle race will start tomorrow, Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at 5 pm from Bab Khyber Jamrud Bazaar. The opening ceremony will be attended by Pakistan Cycling Federation President Syed Azhar Ali Shah, Director Sports Marj Raziullah Bhattani and DSO Khyber Hussain. The 15-kilometer cycle race will conclude at the Peshawar Sports Stadium. Cash prizes, trophies, medals and certificates will be distributed among 50 cyclists in two categories (Sports Cycle and China Cycle). All cyclists will also be given cash. The closing ceremony will be attended by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, Minister Sports Fakhar Jahan, DG Tourism Habibullah Arif, DG Sports Tashfeen Haider.
