Peshawar: The three-day International Conference of Health Research (ICHR-26) concluded at Rehman Medical Institute (RMI), bringing together a large number of researchers, healthcare professionals, and students from across Pakistan and abroad.
The closing ceremony was attended by Chief Executive Officer RMI Shafique Ur Rehman, Chairman and Founder Prof. Dr. Muhammad Rehman, and Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Rizwan Taj, President of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council.
The conference featured extensive academic sessions, research presentations, and discussions focusing on key healthcare challenges and practical solutions. Participants actively engaged in knowledge exchange, reflecting a growing culture of research and collaboration in the country.
Addressing the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Rizwan Taj congratulated RMI on successfully organising the conference and appreciated its strong standing with PMDC. He described Prof. Dr. Muhammad Rehman as “an institution in himself” and emphasised the importance of strengthening medical education and research. He also encouraged researchers to pursue meaningful work, seek international grants, and contribute to impactful scientific advancements.
CEO RMI Shafique Ur Rehman said that organising ICHR-26 despite challenging regional conditions was a deliberate decision, reflecting the commitment of the institution. “Pakistan is not short of talent or insight — what we need is execution,” he remarked, stressing that research must go beyond presentations and translate into real-world impact.
Chairman ICHR-26 Dr. Naseer Ahmad termed the conference remarkable, noting that more than 2,000 participants attended both physically and online. He highlighted that major areas of healthcare, including medicine, dentistry, nursing, and rehabilitation, were comprehensively covered.
Patron ICHR-26 Prof. Dr. Ghulam Rasool described the conference as “the power of knowledge in motion,” underscoring the need to convert data and analysis into decisions that benefit communities. He also announced the dates for ICHR-2027.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, certificates and honorary shields were awarded to organisers and participants for their achievements in various categories, including rapid fire sessions, quiz competitions, oral presentations, and poster competitions.
The conference concluded with a shared resolve to further strengthen research, collaboration, and innovation to improve healthcare outcomes in the years ahead.
