DI KHAN: A month-long Waziristan Peace Festival 2026, organized by Frontier Corps Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (South), concluded successfully after promoting sports, peace, and youth engagement across the region.
The festival featured 219 cricket, football, and volleyball matches at 23 locations in Waziristan, with more than 4,000 players from 201 teams participating. The event aimed to encourage youth towards positive activities while strengthening peace, unity, and brotherhood.
The closing ceremony was held in Wana and attended by tribal elders, civil administration officials, and a large number of local youth. Inspector General Frontier Corps Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (South), Major General Mehr Omar Khan Niazi, attended as the chief guest.
The IG FC South and tribal elders distributed prizes among winning teams and outstanding players. Speaking on the occasion, they highlighted the importance of sports in promoting peace, development, and providing constructive opportunities for the youth of Waziristan. The festival reflected ongoing efforts to encourage young talent through healthy and positive activities.
