Peshawar: The Police Training College (PTC) Hangu has played a historic and vital role in professional policing, not just in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but across Pakistan. This was stated by the Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Zulfiqar Hameed, during a visit to PTC Hangu, where he awarded certificates to participants of the 18th Advanced Course.
Speaking at the ceremony, IG Police commended the long-standing contributions of the college since the inception of Pakistan, stating that its services will be remembered in golden words. He also announced that efforts are underway to upgrade PTC Hangu into a full-fledged Police Academy, recognizing its expanding role in law enforcement training.
During his visit, the IG inspected various departments of the college and awarded commendation certificates and cash prizes to faculty members for their exemplary performance. He also attended the final match of the tug-of-war competition held at the college’s sports week and presented trophies and prizes to the winning team.
Commandant PTC Hangu Dr. Fasihuddin Ashraf briefed the IG on the ongoing training programs, developmental activities, and challenges faced by the institution. The IG lauded Dr. Fasihuddin’s decades-long contribution to police education and training and praised his dedication as an internationally recognized scholar and researcher who has devoted his life to the betterment of police training in Pakistan.
The visit marks a significant step towards institutional strengthening and modernization of police training infrastructure in the province.
