ISLAMABAD: Chairman of the Pakistan Association of Exhibition Industry (PAII) Khurshid Barlas met with Maj Gen (R) Dr. Nayyar Naseer, High Commissioner of Pakistan to Sri Lanka, in Colombo and discussed the promotion of Pakistani products, trade and investment opportunities between the two countries.

During the meeting, Khurshid Barlas briefed the High Commissioner on domestic and international exhibitions organised by PAII, including recent events in Jeddah, the United Kingdom, Bahrain and Bangladesh.

He announced that the 2nd Made in Pakistan Exhibition & Business Investment Conference would be held from December 23 to 27, 2026, at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) in Colombo.

A wide range of Pakistani industries is expected to participate, including textiles, fashion and fabrics; food products, marble and glassware; electrical appliances, kitchenware, crockery and household goods; footwear, furniture and fixtures; gems and jewellery; sports goods and handicrafts; tourism and hospitality; and machinery, equipment, paints and HVACR.

Khurshid Barlas said the exhibition would create new opportunities for trade and investment between Pakistan and Sri Lanka while helping promote Pakistani products in international markets.

Maj Gen (R) Dr. Nayyar Naseer appreciated PAII’s initiatives and assured the organisers of full diplomatic and administrative support from the Pakistan High Commission for the successful holding of the exhibition.

He said Sri Lanka’s investment environment was becoming increasingly attractive due to its foreign investment regime, government policies, strategic location and educated workforce.

The High Commissioner emphasised the need to identify key product segments where Sri Lanka could prioritise Pakistani imports and encouraged greater efforts to expand bilateral trade.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Khurshid Barlas presented an official invitation to Maj Gen (R) Dr. Nayyar Naseer to attend the 2nd Made in Pakistan Exhibition & Business Investment Conference in Colombo.
