IWCCI elects new leadership at 17th annual general meeting

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IWCCI) held its 17th Annual General Meeting (AGM), where Shahnaz Kapadia was announced unopposed as President.
Kapadia, who has 37 years of business experience, founded ECI (Pvt.) Ltd. and later sold the company before pursuing studies at Harvard University. After returning to Pakistan, she founded Mera Maan (Pvt.) Ltd.
Madeeha Erum, CEO of Kostbar (Pvt.) Ltd., was announced as Senior Vice President, while Tuba Sheikh, who runs Stou Developers and Contractors (Pvt.) Ltd., was announced as Vice President.
The newly constituted Executive Committee includes Zunaira Omar, Dr. Sonia Saleem, Sehrish Ahsan, Niloufer Khan, Aisha Shehzad, Zumla, Shehla Anwar, Nazia Toheed and Bushra Bhutta as Executive Members.
Farah Naz, Parliamentary Secretary and Chief Guest, administered the oath to the newly elected office bearers and Executive Committee members.
Former IWCCI Presidents Rizwana Asif, Farida Rashid, Naima Ansari, Aliya Akram and Niloufer Khan also attended the AGM.
Speaking on the occasion, Farah Naz highlighted the growing role of women entrepreneurs in Pakistan’s economy and appreciated women’s chambers for supporting and connecting women in business.
Samina Fazil, Founder President of IWCCI, welcomed the continued growth of the chamber and the participation of established women entrepreneurs in its leadership.
She said the development was in line with the mission behind IWCCI’s establishment to empower women and strengthen their participation in trade and industry.
The AGM brought together chamber members, former presidents and businesswomen to mark the leadership transition. The new leadership will focus on expanding opportunities for women entrepreneurs, strengthening business networks and promoting greater participation of women in Pakistan’s economy.
