PESHAWAR:Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control, Syed Fakhar Jehan, paid a surprise visit to the Excise Department’s Joint Check Post Kohat to review the ongoing anti-narcotics operations and performance of the field staff.
During the visit, the minister met with officials deployed at the check post and received a detailed briefing regarding ongoing inspections, enforcement measures, and efforts being undertaken to curb the trafficking of narcotics.
Speaking on the occasion, the provincial minister directed the Excise personnel to maintain professionalism, courtesy, and respectful conduct while dealing with the public during checking operations.
He emphasized that public cooperation and responsible behavior by officials are essential for ensuring effective law enforcement and building public trust.
Syed Fakhar Jehan further instructed the department to intensify its anti-narcotics actions and enhance operational efficiency to eliminate the menace of drugs from society.
He stated that, in line with the vision of Founding Chairman Imran Khan and the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the provincial government remains fully committed to establishing a drug-free society and safeguarding the younger generation from the destructive effects of narcotics.
The minister made it clear that no leniency or concession would be shown to individuals involved in drug trafficking or activities that threaten the future of the youth.
He further directed Excise officials to discharge their duties with utmost honesty, responsibility, and dedication, warning that negligence or dereliction of duty would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
