ISLAMABAD: Lal Dino Mari Baloch, founder of the Pakistan Front Movement (PFM) and Chairman of the Baloch International Congress Trust (BICT), in his message on Kashmir Solidarity Day being observed today, stated that lasting peace in South Asia cannot be achieved by suppressing the legitimate and democratic aspirations of the Kashmiri people. He emphasized that peace imposed through force, coercion, and denial of basic rights is neither sustainable nor just.
He said that India’s actions in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir have crossed all moral, legal, and humanitarian limits, marked by systematic human rights violations. Despite this grave situation, he regretted that the international community has largely remained a silent spectator, failing to take meaningful steps to stop the suffering of the Kashmiri people.
Baloch stressed that the people of Kashmir must be granted their internationally recognized right to self-determination, in accordance with United Nations resolutions. He maintained that only by allowing Kashmiris to freely determine their own political future can durable peace and stability be ensured in the region.
He further blamed India for sponsoring and facilitating terrorist activities inside Pakistan with the aim of destabilizing the country and disrupting regional peace. He called upon the international community to take serious notice of these actions and hold India accountable.
The PFM founder also strongly criticized the bystander role of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on the Kashmir issue. He urged the OIC to rise above rhetoric, adopt a principled and proactive stance, and play an effective role in achieving a just and peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute.
