PESHAWAR :
Political tensions escalated in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly following the passage of the budget. Speaking to the media, Opposition Leader Dr. Ibadullah strongly criticized the provincial government and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership, saying that several unprecedented and unfortunate incidents took place in the assembly.
He alleged that an outsider was brought into the assembly to chant slogans, an act he strongly condemned. According to him, “love lost and corruption won today,” adding that an “Ashiq-e-Imran” got the budget approved despite opposition from PTI founder Imran Khan’s sisters and members of his own party.
Dr. Ibadullah described the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as “politically immature,” claiming that his conduct during the proceedings proved it. He said that while slogans were being raised against him, the Chief Minister was simultaneously making requests of him as though he were the Prime Minister.
The opposition leader further stated that all those involved appear united on one point: preventing the PTI founder from being released. He alleged that they are neither sincere to their leader nor loyal to their workers.
He also claimed that the PTI founder’s policies were responsible for damaging Pakistan’s economy and that his government’s foreign policy had isolated the country internationally. Dr. Ibadullah added that although he does not refer to anyone as a “father figure,” the Field Marshal remains his hero.
Questioning the provincial government’s performance, he asserted that under the current style of governance, no significant development would be visible in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the next two decades.
Concluding his media talk, Dr. Ibadullah said that the people of the province now understand the reality of the situation and that public opinion will ultimately determine the direction of future political decisions.
