KHYBER: Frontier Corp (FC) troop who embraced Shahadat in Mohmand district was laid to rest with State honor in his ancestral village, Samsay, Loy-Shelman area of tehsil Landi Kotal on Monday evening.
Liaqat Ali Shelmani, a Martyred FC soldier of 182 wing was performing his duty on the checkpoint in Mohmand district when he was targeted with sniper shot.
Later on his body was transported to his ancestral area last evening for burial purpose.
Besides Lieutenant Col Hafiz Bilal, Additional Assistant Commissioner, Landi Kotal Shahabuddin, a large number of locals, police and forces officials attended the funeral rites held in his village, Samsay.
A smart contingent of the forces presented a guard of honor to the deceased soldier, put floral wreaths on his grave and offered prayers for the departed soul.
