KOHAT: In line with the vision of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan, the mass marriages ceremony of 22 couples was held at Taj Marquis in Divisional Headquarter Kohat, in light of the direction of the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Ali Amin Gandapur, which was organized by the Zakat Department Kohat.
The chief guest of the ceremony was former Federal Interior Minister Shehryar Afridi MNA, while this blessed ceremony besides the Pir of Ghamkul Sharif Kohat Pir Habibullah Shah, Akabarin of Tablighi Markaz Kohat, Deputy Commissioner Kohat Abdul Akram, Chairman Tehsil Gumbat Sajid Iqbal, Chairman Tehsil Lachi Muhammad Ehsan, important PTI leaders Salman Shinwari and Iqbal Malik, and former District Nazim Naseem Afridi, was also attended by the key political and social figures of Kohat district.
District Khatib Mufti Shafiullah, on this occasion, performed the Nikah of 22 couples. At the end, each couple was presented a Cheque of Rs.2 Lakh each and a bouquet on behalf of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government. Similarly, a total of Rs. 4.4 million were distributed.
This was the first program of its kind of mass marriages at official level in the history of Kohat, which was successfully completed.
Shahryar Afridi and other speakers while congratulating the newlyweds couples, termed the government money spent on mass weddings as the best use of it, which was spent on fulfilling an important Islamic obligation. They said that Nikah is a Sunnah of Muhammad (PBUH) which is an important means for a man and a woman to live a dignified life. They urged the new couples who starting a new journey, to take care of each other’s rights, as it is the secret of a successful life.
Shahryar Afridi and the newlyweds thanked Imran Khan and the Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur for doing this wonderful job at official level and prayed for the early release of national leader Imran Khan, who is full of the spirit of national and public service, from the death cell of Adiala Jail and appreciated his services and sacrifices for the country and the nation.
Later, a wedding feast was also arranged for the participants with the cooperation of the District Administration Kohat and local PTI leader Salman Shinwari.
