MARDAN: Hospital Director Brig (Retd) Dr. Muhammad Abrar Khan has announced the establishment of a full-fledged satellite pharmacy in the Gynae Labor Room/Operation Theatre at Mardan Medical Complex to ensure prompt availability of essential medicines for emergency patients.
The announcement was made during his visit to the labor room and operation theatre to review patient care and operational efficiency. Accompanied by Medical Director Prof. Dr. Muhammad Said, Chairperson of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Dr. Naila and Manager Administration and Facilities Dr. Rohail Hayat, he also chaired a meeting on infrastructure improvements and administrative reforms.
The hospital administration decided to limit floor stock replenishment to two scheduled intervals every 24 hours to improve inventory management and prevent pilferage. Dr. Abrar also said that 50 to 60 porters would be deployed to assist with patient transport, blood sample collection and timely delivery of medicines.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Said said a dedicated triage area was being established in the labor room, while Dr. Naila said work on the facility had already begun. She also stressed the need for a new labour room and a dedicated Gynae-C ward to cope with the increasing patient load.
The hospital management further announced the provision of two ventilators for the Labor Room High Dependency Unit (HDU) to strengthen critical care services.
