PESHAWAR: The elections of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muay Thai Association for the term 2026–2030 were successfully held at a local hotel in Peshawar, with participation from regional representatives across the province to form a new cabinet.
The elections were supervised by Rehan Butt and representative Shah Faisal, while officials from the Pakistan Olympic Association and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Directorate were also present.
According to the results, Ilyas Afridi was elected President, Tariq Mateen as Senior Vice President, Atiq ur Rehman as Vice President-I, Tahir Naqash Jadun as Vice President-II, Shabir as Vice President-III, Najma Qazi as Women Vice President, Inayat Ullah as Secretary, Wali Muhammad as Deputy Secretary, Abdul Samad as Associate Secretary, Usman and Baseer as Associate Secretaries, Bakhtawar as Women Wing Associate Secretary, Wajid Ali as Finance Secretary, Musarrat Ullah as Public Relations Officer, and Saeed Ullah Advocate as Legal Advisor.
Members elected to the Executive Committee include Muhammad Wahab, Irfan Mehsud, Zareef, Furqan Afridi, Nimra, Javeria, Khurram Sarwar, Malaika and Soumia Ali.
Speaking on the occasion, newly elected President Ilyas Afridi thanked the representatives for their trust and assured that concrete steps would be taken to promote Muay Thai across the province and provide more opportunities for young athletes through competitions.
Earlier, Rehan Butt highlighted the initiatives undertaken by the Muay Thai Federation Pakistan for the promotion of the sport and expressed confidence that the newly elected cabinet would further develop the game in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
