ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Ulema Council leaders have condemned attacks on civilian airports in Abha and Riyadh, calling for international action against Houthi aggression against Saudi Arabia.
In a joint statement, Chairman of the Pakistan Ulema Council Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi and other religious leaders described the attacks as acts of terrorism, stressing that targeting civilians and vital public infrastructure was unacceptable.
They said the Muslim world stood with the leadership and people of Saudi Arabia, reaffirming the importance of protecting the Kingdom and the sacred sites of Makkah and Madinah.
The leaders urged the United Nations, Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and international community to take effective measures to stop the attacks, hold those responsible accountable and address the supply of weapons and resources used in such incidents.
They clarified that their position was against terrorism and aggression, not any religious sect. They also expressed condolences to the families of the victims and prayed for the recovery of the injured and peace across the region.
