RAWALPINDI: President of Anjuman Tajran Liaquat Road Rawalpindi and the Inter-City Hotel Association, Sheikh Abdul Waheed, has urged the government to immediately reopen roads blocked with shipping containers ahead of a feared long march.
He said the closures had severely disrupted commercial activities, reduced customer traffic and caused financial losses to traders and hotel owners already struggling with inflation, heavy taxes and rising utility bills.
Sheikh Abdul Waheed called for alternative security arrangements to maintain law and order without disrupting public movement and business activities. He urged the authorities to ensure access to commercial centres and restore normal trading activities across Rawalpindi.
