Peshawar: Ansarullah Khelji, the newly appointed Director General of the Department of Information and Public Relations, formally assumed charge of his position yesterday (Monday). On this occasion, officers and staff of the Information Department, members of the journalist community, and individuals from various walks of life extended their congratulations and best wishes to the newly appointed DG.
A simple yet dignified ceremony was held at the office of the Department of Information and Public Relations to mark the occasion. The event was attended by senior officers, journalists, representatives of civil society, and other distinguished guests. The participants praised the professional capabilities, experience, and services of the new Director General and expressed hope that under his leadership, the department would become more proactive, effective, and play a prominent role in public communication.
In his remarks, the newly appointed DG Information stated that his top priorities would include improving the department, ensuring the transparent dissemination of information, and fostering positive and constructive relations with journalists. He emphasized that journalism is the fourth pillar of the state and assured full cooperation for its strength and freedom.
The Director General further added that the Information Department would be aligned with modern requirements to ensure timely and accurate delivery of information to the public. He urged all officers and staff to perform their duties with integrity, dedication, and hard work.
