ISLAMABAD: The United States Embassy in Islamabad marked America’s 250th Independence anniversary by illuminating two of Pakistan’s iconic landmarks—the Pakistan Monument in Islamabad and the Lahore Fort—in red, white and blue.

In a statement, the embassy said the illuminations formed part of a global initiative celebrating 250 years of American freedom while highlighting the enduring partnership between Pakistan and the United States.

“Happy 4th of July! Pakistan’s iconic national monuments, the Pakistan Monument and Lahore Fort, were beautifully illuminated in our great red, white, and blue to celebrate America’s 250 incredible years of freedom and our bright future,” the embassy said.

The embassy noted that the visual tribute also commemorated nearly 80 years of Pakistan-US relations, emphasizing cooperation based on mutual prosperity and regional security.

“We are moving forward with strength and building a great future together,” the statement added, using the hashtags #Freedom250 and #USAinPakistan.
