Pakistan U19 produced another impressive performance to defeat England U19 by 122 runs in the second Youth ODI at Woodbridge Road, Guildford, taking an unassailable 2–0 lead in the four-match series.
Batting first after being invited to bat, Pakistan posted 308 runs in 49.2 overs. England, in reply, were bowled out for 186 in 37.1 overs.
Pakistan suffered an early setback when opener Usman Khan was dismissed for just two runs. However, Abdul Qadir played a magnificent attacking innings of 146 runs, smashing 11 fours and 12 sixes to put Pakistan in a commanding position.
Hiyam Khan scored 37 off 27 balls, while Hamza Zahoor contributed a valuable 55 off 49 balls, including seven fours and two sixes. Ahmed Hussain added 28 runs and Hasnain Abbas Dar scored six as Pakistan reached 308.
England’s bowlers Tom Edwards, Luke Hands and George Harris claimed three wickets each.
Chasing 309 for victory, England struggled against Pakistan’s disciplined bowling attack. Isaac Muhammad scored five, Harry Wallace made 21 and Leo Salvi Clinton contributed 19.
Ruby Bowman provided England with some resistance, scoring 67 off 43 balls, including four fours and seven sixes, but his dismissal ended England’s hopes of a successful chase.
Pakistan’s bowling attack then wrapped up the innings, with Rizwanullah taking three wickets, Mohammad Siam three, Naqeeb Shafiq two and Ahmed Hussain one.
England were dismissed for 186 in 37.1 overs, giving Pakistan a convincing 122-run victory.
The result gives Pakistan a 2–0 lead in the four-match Youth ODI series. Pakistan had won the opening match by 177 runs, with Usman Khan scoring a memorable 151.
The third Youth ODI is scheduled to be played on 14 September, followed by the fourth match on 16 September.
