PESHAWAR: A simple yet dignified Christmas ceremony was held at Peshawar General Hospital (PGH), attended by Christian staff members along with consultants, doctors, nursing staff, and administrative officers. The event was organized in a warm and respectful atmosphere, reflecting the hospital’s strong commitment to inclusivity, equality, and interfaith harmony.
The ceremony aimed not only to celebrate the joy of Christmas but also to underscore PGH’s firm belief in providing a safe, inclusive, and equitable working environment for people of all religions, cultures, and communities. The hospital recognizes and values the services of every individual without any form of discrimination.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Executive Officer of PGH, Malik Javed Iqbal, stated that respect, equality, inclusion, and tolerance are the core values of Peshawar General Hospital, and the institution does not compromise on these principles under any circumstances. He emphasized that every employee serving at PGH, regardless of religion or background, enjoys equal importance and dignity.
The CEO highly appreciated the services of the Christian staff, acknowledging their honesty, dedication, professionalism, and commitment to patient care. He added that the hospital administration regularly recognizes outstanding performance through financial incentives, rewards, and other facilities under its merit-based policy.
Malik Javed Iqbal further remarked that religious and cultural diversity is not a weakness but a strength of any institution, especially in the healthcare sector, as it fosters a positive, peaceful, and effective working environment. He stressed that unity, tolerance, and mutual respect among followers of different faiths are essential for better service to humanity.

During the ceremony, a Christmas cake was cut, and special prayers were offered for peace, brotherhood, religious harmony, and interfaith coexistence.
