PESHAWAR: A prestigious passing-out ceremony and certificate distribution event was held at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Forest Thai School, Abbottabad, for 246 deputy rangers, Foresters, forest guards and wildlife life of Forests and Wildlife department who completed their compulsory training course.
Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Forests, Wildlife, Environment, and Climate Change Pir Musavir Khan attended the ceremony as the chief guest. Chief Conservators of Forests Shaukat Fayyaz and Ahmed Jalil, Director of Human Resource and Development Directorate Hazrat Mir, and Principal of Thai Forest School Tariq Ali Shah and other officers and staff also attended the ceremony.
on this occasion the Special Assistant was given a guard of honor. He laid flowers at the martyrs’ monument and offered prayers. He also planted a sapling as part of the monsoon tree plantation campaign.
The Special Assistant awarded gold, silver, and bronze medals along with certificates to the personnel who secured the first, second, and third positions in the compulsory training course. For the first time in the history of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Hajima Bibi, a female wildlife watcher from the Chitral Wild Division, who completed her training at the Thai Forest School, was also given a special certificate.
In his address at the passing-out ceremony, Pir Musavir Khan congratulated the foresters and others personnel , stating that their role in protecting forests is extremely important. He urged them to perform their duties with professionalism, integrity, and dedication, as their honest performance of duties guarantees a green future for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He also advised them to deal courteously with local communities, as the role of local people is also key to the protection and promotion of forests.
He emphasized that they are on the front lines against illegal logging, forest fires, and environmental threats. The Special Assistant further stated that the protection and promotion of forests are a top priority, in line with the vision of founding Chairman Imran Khan and under the leadership of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He mentioned that the provincial government is actively undertaking tree plantation to make Khyber Pakhtunkhwa green and to combat the devastating effects of climate change.
Pir Musavir Khan praised the Thai Forest School for its role in enhancing the professional capabilities of the personnel and assured them that the issues faced by the institution would be resolved. Officers of the Forest Department and the school’s principal, Tariq Shah, also addressed the ceremony. In conclusion, the officers of the Forest Department presented a special shield to the Special Assistant.
