PESHAWAR: The Population Welfare Department Peshawar has announced special Independence Day celebrations at all Family Welfare Centres across the district in connection with Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day.
The decision was taken during a monthly performance review meeting of Family Welfare Counsellors, Field Technical Officers and In-Charges of Family Welfare Centres, chaired by District Population Welfare Officer Peshawar Sami Ullah Khan Khil. Kashif Fida, Shahid Murad and other concerned officers and officials also attended the meeting.
The meeting reviewed the performance of Family Welfare Centres during the previous month, with particular focus on family planning services provided to the public. Participants also discussed measures to improve the quality and effectiveness of public services, family planning initiatives and ongoing departmental activities.
Sami Ullah Khan Khil directed officials to decorate all Family Welfare Centres with national flags and colours and arrange special awareness activities highlighting the importance and spirit of Independence Day.
He said August 14 provides an opportunity to renew the national commitment to the ideals behind the creation of Pakistan and to promote unity, solidarity, progress and development.
The District Population Welfare Officer said the department would actively participate in Independence Day celebrations and make efforts to promote patriotism, national awareness, unity and a sense of responsibility among the public.
