PESHAWAR: President of the Pakistan Academy of Family Physicians (KP), Prof. Dr. Rashid Mahmood, has voiced concern over the WHO Global Status Report on Cancer 2026, highlighting that women in Pakistan face an average 111.5-day delay between breast cancer diagnosis and treatment. He urged federal and provincial governments to establish free screening centers, reduce treatment delays, ensure a steady supply of cancer medicines, and launch nationwide awareness campaigns, stressing that women’s health must be treated as a national priority.
