PESHAWAR:Following the approval of the Board of Governors, Professor Shehzad Akbar Khan has been appointed as the Dean (CEO) of the Medical Teaching Institution (MTI) Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC), Khyber Girls Medical College, and its affiliated institutions, including the Institute of Kidney Diseases (IKD), Burn and Plastic Surgery Center (BPSC), Peshawar Institute of Cardiology (PICO), and Khyber Institute of Child Health (KICH).
A distinguished and competent surgeon by profession, Prof. Shehzad Akbar Khan is highly respected and admired for his exceptional administrative acumen. He has previously served with distinction as the Medical Director and Hospital Director of HMC, earning accolades for his leadership and organizational contributions.
Prof. Shehzad is also a recipient of the prestigious Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, awarded in recognition of his outstanding services during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The faculty, staff, and trainees of the institution have warmly welcomed his appointment, expressing confidence that he will continue to serve with the same dedication, integrity, and excellence that have defined his career.
In his new role, Prof. Shehzad Akbar Khan is expected to play a pivotal part in strengthening patient care services and advancing undergraduate and postgraduate medical education across the associated institutions.
