LAHORE: Professor Dr. Muhammad Tahir Khalily has been awarded the Pakistan Psychological Association (PPA) Lifetime Achievement and Leadership Award 2026 in recognition of his outstanding contributions to psychology, mental health, research and higher education.

The award was presented during the 16th International Conference of the Pakistan Psychological Association held in Lahore.

A distinguished clinical neuropsychologist, researcher and academic leader, Dr. Khalily has more than three decades of national and international experience, serving in senior clinical and academic positions in Pakistan, Ireland and the United Kingdom.

His research has focused on clinical neuropsychology, psychiatric disorders, addiction, cognitive rehabilitation and evidence-based mental health interventions. He has also played a key role in promoting mental health services and advancing psychological research in Pakistan.

Dr. Khalily contributed to the development of the psychology profession by drafting the Pakistan Psychological Council Bill and advocating for its approval before the National Assembly’s standing committees.

He has published extensively in international journals, supervised postgraduate and doctoral research, and secured competitive research grants. The PPA said the award recognises his lifelong leadership and exceptional services to clinical neuropsychology, mental healthcare, research and higher education.

The honour reflects Dr. Khalily’s lasting impact on the field and his continued commitment to advancing mental health services and mentoring future generations of psychologists.
