KAGHAN: Advisor to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Industries, Commerce and Technical Education Hamayun Khan visited the Handicraft Development Centre (HDC) Jareed, Kaghan, to review development opportunities and engage with local stakeholders.
During the visit, an Annual Development Programme (ADP) scheme worth Rs40 million was announced to provide handicraft and wood-carving training to local youth and help create sustainable livelihood opportunities.
Discussions also focused on establishing a display centre for locally produced handicrafts and exploring sustainable mechanisms to strengthen the operational capacity of HDC Jareed.
The Advisor briefed participants on the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s tiered financial support model for small, medium and large-scale projects, aimed at promoting entrepreneurship, supporting local businesses and strengthening economic activity.
Managing Director SIDB Abdul Hameed Khan and Deputy Managing Director Noman Fayaz were also present during the visit.
The Small Industries Development Board (SIDB) reiterated its commitment to preserving traditional crafts, empowering young people and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
