BANNU: Security forces launched an intelligence-based operation (IBO) against militants described by the government as Fitna al-Khawarij in the areas of Narmi Khel, Baka Khel and Takhti Khel in Bannu on Thursday.
According to sources, multiple explosions were heard during the operation, reportedly caused by the detonation of an explosives cache. Security forces have initiated a clearance operation in the area.
No official statement has yet been issued regarding casualties or the outcome of the operation. Further details are awaited.
