KOHAT: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information and Public Relations Shafi Jan has on Sunday held a public day at his residence, where he met residents from different areas, heard their individual and collective grievances, and directed relevant departments to take immediate action on several issues.
Citizens raised concerns related to basic civic amenities, roads and other infrastructure, education, healthcare, electricity, gas, drinking water, revenue matters, and other public services. The Minister reviewed each complaint individually, contacted the relevant officials and directed them to resolve public issues on priority basis.
Shafi Jan said direct engagement with the public and the timely resolution of their problems remained among the provincial government’s top priorities. He said public day meetings were aimed at providing citizens with direct access to elected representatives and sparing them the need to make repeated visits to government offices for the redress of complaints. He directed the government departments to avoid unnecessary delays in addressing public issues and to ensure transparent, timely and efficient delivery of services.
“The government is committed to living up to the public’s trust, and every possible effort is being made to resolve people’s problems,” he said.
The public day was attended by a large number of residents, many of whom expressed hope that the Minister’s directives would be implemented without delay.
