PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is set to usher in a new era of cricket with the official launch of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Champions League (KCL) on July 18 at 6:00 PM at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium, Peshawar. The grand ceremony will mark the formal unveiling of the league schedule, talent hunt programme, and several key initiatives aimed at promoting cricket across the province.
Former Pakistan captain and legendary all-rounder Shahid Afridi has been appointed as the Brand Ambassador of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Champions League. Afridi will be the chief cricket attraction at the launch ceremony and has invited cricket fans, particularly the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Peshawar, to attend the event with their families and support the province’s emerging cricket talent.
The launch ceremony is expected to attract the Chief Minister and Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, senior government officials, members of the business and corporate community, investors, media representatives, and several former and current international cricketers. League Commissioner and former Pakistan captain Younis Khan will also participate in the event alongside other prominent figures from the cricketing fraternity.
A major highlight of the evening will be a live musical concert featuring leading Pakistani artists, offering spectators a blend of cricket, music, culture, and entertainment. Organizers have also announced special arrangements for families, while free entry tickets will be available to encourage maximum public participation in the historic event.
During the ceremony, organizers will announce the official tournament schedule, provide updates on province-wide talent hunt trials, and unveil several strategic initiatives designed to strengthen the league and create opportunities for young cricketers from every district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Champions League aims to establish a professional platform for talented young players, promote grassroots cricket, and identify future stars capable of representing the province and Pakistan at the highest level. Organizers believe the league will also help project the peaceful, progressive, and talented image of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at both the national and international levels.
The grand launch on July 18 promises to be a memorable celebration of cricket, entertainment, and youth talent, bringing together sports enthusiasts, families, government representatives, corporate partners, and cricket legends under one roof to celebrate the beginning of what is expected to become one of the province’s premier sporting events.
