On the joyous occasion of Easter, special worship services and prayer gatherings were held in churches across the country, including in Peshawar, where the Christian community celebrated this sacred festival with great devotion and reverence.
During the central service in Peshawar, Bishop Humphrey Sarfraz Peters led a special prayer, seeking blessings from Almighty God for the country’s security, peace, and prosperity.
In his address, Bishop Humphrey Sarfraz Peters said that the message of Easter represents love, sacrifice, hope, and new life. He emphasized that it teaches us to eliminate hatred and live with love, tolerance, and brotherhood. He further stated that in the current circumstances, national unity and cohesion are the need of the hour, and all Pakistanis must play their role collectively for the country’s progress and stability.
During the service, the Bishop of Peshawar offered special prayers for the personnel of Pakistan’s armed forces, police, and other security agencies, who are tirelessly serving to defend the country and maintain law and order. He also appreciated the role of the judiciary and the media, offering prayers for them so that they may continue to contribute positively to the country by ensuring justice and presenting facts truthfully. He remarked that the security institutions, judiciary, and media are vital pillars of the state, and their strength guarantees national stability.
He further added that Pakistan is a great country where people of different religions live together with mutual respect and harmony, and this diversity is a source of national strength. The Bishop reaffirmed that the Christian community will always continue to play a positive role in promoting peace, development, and stability in the country.
A large number of men, women, youth, and children from the Christian community participated in the ceremony. At the conclusion of the service, special prayers were offered for peace in the country, elimination of terrorism, economic stability, and public welfare. The participants also renewed their commitment to remain united for a peaceful and strong Pakistan.
