ABBOTTABAD: The Abbottabad Table Tennis Championship, jointly organized by the District Table Tennis Association and Modern Age School and College, commenced with great enthusiasm at the Boys Hall of Modern Age School and College.

The event was inaugurated by Regional Sports Officer Sardar Ahmed Zaman. The opening day featured five exciting matches, all marked by intense competition among the players. Prominent table tennis players from across Abbottabad are participating in the two-day tournament.

Organizers expressed special gratitude to Abdul Wahid Mir, Managing Director of Modern Age School and College, for his full support in facilitating the event. Known for his own background in sports, Mir not only provided the venue but also assured continued cooperation in promoting athletic activities in the region.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Regional Sports Officer Sardar Ahmed Zaman emphasized the importance of engaging youth in constructive pursuits. “Our youth are a national asset. It is essential to provide them with healthy and positive opportunities. Sports not only keep them away from negative influences but also enhance their mental and physical capabilities,” he stated.

The championship continues today with more thrilling matches expected, as young athletes vie for top honors and showcase their talent in front of an encouraging audience.
