UPPER CHITRAL: Under the banner of Tirich Mir Backpackers Club Pakistan (TBCP) and with the support of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority, the second phase of the “Tirich Mir Base Camp Trekking” expedition continues. On the second day of this phase, a group of 20 selected trekkers from across Pakistan successfully departed from Gol Ghari Pakhturi and reached Shahbronz Camp.

Along the way, the trekkers were warmly welcomed by local residents and youth, which further boosted the spirit of the adventure. Upon entering the scenic Owir Valley, the group was enthusiastically received by prominent youth leader Akhunzada Tanveer-ul-Haq and other local young people. On the occasion, Akhunzada Tanveer-ul-Haq stated that this expedition would prove to be a milestone in promoting the positive image of the remote and beautiful region of Reri Owir. He also expressed his special gratitude to Umer Khalilullah, the founder of Tirich Mir Backpackers Club.

The success of the expedition is attributed to TBCP’s professional planning, excellent management, and continuous monitoring, while the patronage of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority is playing a key role in making this initiative more effective and organized.

This is the first time that the lesser-traveled, naturally rich route of Owir Valley is being formally explored in an organized manner. This effort is expected to boost local tourism and strengthen the cultural identity of the region. After staying at Shahbronz Camp, the group will begin the next leg of their journey toward the Tirich Mir Base Camp.
