Beijing, China: The Chinese Foreign Ministry released an official statement following an important meeting between Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, highlighting the enduring strength and strategic importance of Pakistan–China relations.

Foreign Minister Wang Yi emphasized the pivotal role of the Pakistani army, calling it “a pillar of national stability and a strong guardian of Pakistan–China friendship and cooperation.” He commended Pakistan’s consistent support for implementing key consensuses reached between the leaderships of both countries, stressing that “in the face of growing global uncertainties, promoting strong Pakistan–China relations is highly beneficial for regional peace and stability.”

Wang Yi reaffirmed that China has always prioritized Pakistan in its neighborhood diplomacy, noting that despite tough times, the bond between the two nations has grown even stronger. “The two countries have established a strong traditional friendship, and China will continue to fully support Pakistan in safeguarding its regional integrity and national security,” he added, welcoming Pakistan’s expanding role in global affairs.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir described China as Pakistan’s “iron brother,” reaffirming that the Pakistan–China strategic partnership remains “as solid as a rock.” He expressed the Pakistani nation’s unanimous support for maintaining strong ties with China and extended gratitude to the Chinese leadership for its contributions to Pakistan’s economic and social development.

He further pledged enhanced cooperation in counter-terrorism and security, ensuring the protection of Chinese personnel, projects, and institutions in Pakistan. “Steps will be taken to further strengthen Pakistan–China friendship and continue progress on the path of development,” Field Marshal Munir concluded.
