PESHAWAR: In observance of World Population Day, a meeting and awareness walk were organized at Green General Hospital, Peshawar, with a focus on maternal health and environmental balance. The event was attended by healthcare professionals, social workers, and members of the public, including a large number of women.
Director Green General Hospital, Dr. Sanam Gul, addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of raising awareness about maternal and child health.
Social worker Akbar Sethi also spoke on the occasion, stressing the spiritual and natural significance of parenthood. He urged that awareness sessions like this be held regularly across hospitals and educational institutions, especially in rural areas, where knowledge about maternal health is often limited. The event concluded with an awareness walk in the surrounding area. Participants, including both men and women, held placards and banners promoting maternal health, environmental protection, and community well-being.
