PESHAWAR : Chairman of the All Pakistan Secretariat Group, All Colonies Pakistan, Zaffar Khan Yousafzai, has appealed to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to extend patronage and provide necessary facilities for the RPL Cricket Tournament, which has been organized in Civil Colony, Warsak Road, Peshawar, for the past 15 years.
In a statement, Zaffar Khan Yousafzai said the RPL Cricket Tournament is organized annually on a self-help basis with the support of local youth and volunteers, without any participation fee. The objective is to engage young people in healthy and positive activities and provide them opportunities to showcase their sporting talent.
He said hundreds of young people have participated in the tournament over the past 15 years. Sports promote discipline, teamwork, tolerance and unity among youth and can also help keep them away from negative activities.
Zaffar Khan Yousafzai appealed to the government to provide cricket bats, balls, kits, stumps, nets and other essential equipment for the tournament, besides supporting the maintenance and provision of basic facilities at the Civil Colony, Warsak Road, playing ground.
He said government patronage would help make the tournament more organized and expand its scope, while enabling more young people to participate in sporting activities.
Zaffar Khan Yousafzai expressed his resolve to continue efforts to provide youth with opportunities for positive activities and promote sports in the community.
