Peshawar:Renowned Pakistani squash coach Zahid Gul is beaming with pride as his student, Noor Zaman, has made history by qualifying for the main draw of the prestigious British Open Squash Championship — nearly 20 years since a Pakistani last achieved this milestone.

Noor Zaman, the reigning World Under-23 Squash Champion, showcased his talent and determination by defeating Egypt’s Kareem El Torkey in a gripping 46-minute qualifying final. Zaman secured his spot with a 11-5, 11-8, 3-11, 11-7 victory, continuing his impressive form on the professional circuit.

Zahid Gul, who has worked tirelessly with Noor to prepare him for top-level international competition, expressed his immense satisfaction. “This is a proud moment not just for me as a coach, but for Pakistan squash,” said Gul. “Noor has shown that with discipline, focus, and hard work, we can once again rise on the global stage.”

This qualification marks a significant step in Noor Zaman’s career and reignites hope for the revival of Pakistan’s squash legacy.
