KHYBER, June 16: Second semester students of Zoology Department in Government Degree College, Landi Kotal have declined shifting of their faculty classes to Government College,Jamrud,district Khyber due to lack of lab requirements.

Addressing to press conference in district press club, Landi Kotal on Monday college students leader Dawood Shinwari flanked by a dozens of zoology department students said that an inspection team from University of Peshawar (UoP) on pretext of lack of basic equipments in the zoology lab, the rest of zoology BS classes were shifted to Jamrud College that was an attempt to deprive them of getting high education at their door steps, they added.

The learners blamed that instead of facilitating them at their own college, the necessary equipment from Landi Kotal college zoology lab were reallocated to furnish Jamrud College and then asked them to attend their rest of classes in the later one that was unacceptable.

It is not only physical and economical sufferings for the students to travel more than forty kilometers to join their rest classes of six semesters in Jamrud College, but also put in risk the future of a dozen students, they regretted.

The students expressed their dissatisfaction over the dilapidated condition of the government degree college, Landi Kotal and said increase in college fee from Rs.5000 to Rs.12000, shortage of qualified teaching staff would further motivate the UoP officials to drop computer science and other subjects from the BS facility.

They also criticized the parliamentarians of the constituency and said they had turned blind eyes towards the students’ problems.

They warned that if the decision of shifting classes to Jamrud College was not revised then they would come to the streets to defend their rights.
